Midnight in the Garden of Lingering Despair has been selected as a finalist in the Wyndham Art Prize 2020. The non-acquisitive $10,000 prize is open to artists across Australia. This year the exhibition will be held online opening early May.
The artwork portrays the landscape under pressure. The colours are distorted, the focus is fading and the contorted trees take on a human element that conveys despair. What is in focus are the twelve circles in the foreground that demand your attention.
